A processing part of a controller selects character image information stored in a storage part based on the measured weight and displays a character together with the actual measurement result on an electronic display part 6. Since a card 34 is driven to turn by a display medium drive part 7 and a mechanical movement entertains the child, the child will pay attention and enjoy being weighted. The displayed character is selected based on a deviation, according to an average weight for each age of children to be measured.
