Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for heating agglomerates, capable of further reducing uneven heating of the agglomerates while suppressing increase in device cost and operation cost.SOLUTION: The method for heating agglomerates for heating agglomerates molded by mixing iron oxide raw material and a reductant in a solid reduction furnace includes: a radiation heating step of heating the agglomerates charged in the solid reduction furnace by the radiation heat of a burner provided in the solid reduction furnace; and a microwave heating step of heating the agglomerates at a position where the agglomerates reach a predetermined temperature inside the solid reduction furnace by irradiating the agglomerates with microwaves having a specific microwave output for a specific irradiation time by a microwave oscillation device provided in the solid reduction furnace.
