Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust generator capable of improving durability of a pair of ramp members of a ball-and-ramp mechanism, and a disk brake.SOLUTION: The ball-and-ramp mechanism 3a of the thrust generator 1a includes a pair of a rotary ramp member 4a and a rectilinear ramp member 5a, each having a plurality of sloped grooves 6a and 7a which are sloped along a circumferential direction and have arcuate diametrical cross section, and a spherical member 10 interposed between the sloped grooves 6a and 7a of the ramp members 4a and 5a to transmit force from the rotary ramp member 4a to the rectilinear ramp member 5a. Each of the sloped grooves 6a and 7a has regions varying in curvature radiuses Ra, Rb, and Rc in the diametrical section in a track area where the spherical member 10 comes into contact with the sloped groove in the sloped grooves 6a and 7a. Accordingly, it is possible to improve the durability of the rotary ramp member 4a and the rectilinear ramp member 5a.
