Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass article which has one or a plurality of recessed parts, in which the variation in the thickness is suppressed as much as possible and which has appropriate surface characteristics.SOLUTION: The glass article 1 has a recessed part 1a formed therein, wherein at least one surface in at least the recessed part 1a is formed by the solidification of a free surface of a softened glass base material G, and further, the variation in the thickness of the side wall portion 1x in the recessed part 1a from a target thickness is within ±5%, and the variation in the thickness of the bottom wall portion 1y in the recessed part 1a from a target thickness is within ±5%.
