Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic optical system advantageous for thinning design of a photographic device while preventing occurence of unnecessary light by a prism directly antecedent to an imaging chip.SOLUTION: A photographic optical system includes an imaging lens group that has at least one lens, an image side prism 108 that deflects light transmitted through the imaging lens group, and a cover glass 110 for image pickup element that transmits the light deflected by the image side prism. An emission surface 108b of the image side prism that emits the deflected light and an incident surface 110a of the cover glass for image pickup element are bonded by an optically transparent adhesive agent 112.
