PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a tire design so as to reduce a ply cord compression, a shear stress and a rim friction of a tire to a rim.SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire construction suitable for severe loading conditions is provided. The tire includes: a bead portion further having an apex which extends radially outward of the bead core; and a turn-up pad located adjacent a chafer. The turn-up pad has a minimum specified width and a maximum specified width at a radius R as measured from the bead center. The turn-up pad is formed of a material having a specified coefficient of elasticity G' and G".
