Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device by which compression effect is held constant irrespective of an input level of an audio signal.SOLUTION: A gain converter 40 outputs a compression gain obtained by dividing a preset threshold value t by an envelope signal outputted by an envelope detection section 30. A multiplication section 50 multiplies an input signal by the compression gain obtained by the gain converter 40, and outputs it. In this case, an ALC section 10, which inputs the input signal and generates and outputs a certain level signal irrespective of the input level, is disposed before a full-wave rectification section 20. Therefore, signal levels inputted to the full-wave rectification section 20 become identical irrespective of the input level, and the compression effect can be held constant irrespective of the input level.
