PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored composition for a color filter, the composition having high sensitivity, excellent viscosity, storage stability and weather resistance, and high developability and giving a good cross-sectional shape of a reversely tapered pattern, even when a finely prepared pigment is used or a pigment concentration is high, and to provide a color filter using the composition.SOLUTION: A colored composition contains a resin (A), a colorant (B), a photopolymerizable monomer (C) and a photopolymerization initiator (D). The resin (A) contains a resin (A1), which is a copolymer comprising a structural unit (a1) expressed by a general formula (1) and one or more structural units (a2) having no ethylenically unsaturated double bonds (excluding the structural unit (a1)), by 25 to 95 wt.% on a basis of the whole amount of the resin (A). The photopolymerization initiator (D) contains an oxime ester compound.
