Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monocular display device and a display method, in which a looking eye can hardly deviate from a projection area of a light flux, and the projection area is easy to see.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a display device which projects a first light flux including image information and a second light flux including image information toward a viewer is provided. The interval between the first light flux at a viewer's position and the second light flux at the viewer's position is larger than the interval between both eyes of the viewer. At least any one of the width of the first light flux at the viewer's position and the width of the second light flux at the viewer's position is smaller than the interval between both eyes of the viewer. The first light flux has a first high brightness state and a first low brightness state of which brightness is lower than that of the first high brightness state, and the second light flux has a second high brightness state and a second low brightness state of which brightness is lower than that of the second high brightness state. When the first light flux is in the first high brightness state, the second light flux is in the second low brightness state. When the first light flux is in the first low brightness state, the second light flux is in the second high brightness state.
