Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element and a photoelectrochemical battery having a high conversion efficiency and an excellent durability.SOLUTION: A photoelectric conversion element consists of a lamination structure including a photoreceptor with a semiconductor fine particle layer in which a dye is suctioned onto a conductive supporting body, a charge mobile body, and a counter electrode. The dye contains a dye with a structure represented by the following general formula (1), and a dye with a structure represented by a general formula (2): Mz(LL)m(LL)m(X)m.CI. (In the general formula (1), D represents a dye residue, n represents an integer equal to or larger than one, and Acc represents a group having a heterocycle acid nucleus or a methine group displaced from an electron withdrawing group.) (In the general formula (2), Mz represents a metal atom, LLand LLrepresent bidentate or tridentate ligands, X represents a unidentate or bidentate ligand, m1 and m2 represent integers of zero to three, m3 represents an integer of zero to two, and CI represents a counter ion in the case that the counter ion is required for neutralizing an electric charge in the general formula (2)).
