PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catamaran that can prevent an increase of hull resistance caused by a bow part thrusting into billow, and deepening draft, and to provide an operation method thereof.SOLUTION: The catamaran 1 includes a hull 2 provided with a draft line detector 14 for detecting a draft, and the draft line detector 14 is provided with a draft line detector 15 of camera for detecting the draft line. Also, the draft line detector 15 is connected to a monitor 18 in a pilothouse 16 to transmit images and information of a condition of the draft line of the bow 4 part. By this arrangement, the navigation resistance of a hull 4 is reduced by rocking and driving of hydrofoils 8, 9, thereby the draft may be made shallow to achieve energy saving.
