PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wastewater treatment system capable of stably treating wastewater with high efficiency while preventing the enlargement of an active sludge treating apparatus and an increase in running cost.SOLUTION: The wastewater treatment system 1C includes a wastewater treating apparatus 100, the active sludge treating apparatus 200. and a combustion apparatus 300. The wastewater treating apparatus 100 includes adsorption elements 111, 121 adsorbing and desorbing organic compounds in wastewater, and continuously treats wastewater to discharge primary treated water and desorption gas. The active sludge treating apparatus 200 has active sludge containing microorganisms that decompose the organic compounds, and discharges the primary treated water as secondary treatment water.
