Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new operation switch composed of a turned-into-jog metal dome switch capable of generating a pleasant feel of clicking, and an operation control method therefor.SOLUTION: An electronic equipment operation switch comprises a casing 14 and a sensor, disposed on the casing 14 oppositely thereto, which detects a signal generated by an operation performed on the casing 14, the sensor being adapted to be able to continuously contract or expand in width. In this construction, it is preferable that the sensor be an electrostatic capacitance sensor and the signal be of an electrostatic capacitance, and that the electrostatic capacitance changes continuously according to an operation performed on the casing 14. Further, it is preferable that there be included an operation button between the casing 14 and the sensor corresponding to that sensor and a metal dome switch beneath the sensor corresponding to the operation button.
