Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic preparation for hair styling which is a water-based preparation, has a low viscosity, is excellent in hair-dressing force, hair-redressing force, and set-holding force, is free from stickiness, is smooth, and is excellent in the lightness of finish.SOLUTION: The cosmetic preparation for hair styling is characterized by including (a) 1.5 to 12 mass% of a surfactant solid at atmospheric pressure (25°C), (b) one or two kinds more compounds selected from (b) sugar alcohols, (b) sugar, (b) polyalkylene glycol polymers, and (b) inorganic salts, (c) a monohydric to tetrahydric alcohol derivative and/or a sugar alcohol derivative liquid at atmospheric pressure, and (d) a film-forming polymer, wherein the total compounding amount of the components (a) and (b) is ≥6 mass%, and having a viscosity of ≤10,000 mPa s (25°C, B type viscometer).
