Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens drive device with which the downsizing can be achieved and a high magnification optical zooming can be performed.SOLUTION: In a lens drive device having a first and a second lens drive units for slidingly moving a first and a second lens groups for an image taking device independently in the optical axis direction of the lenses, a first guide hole for holding a frame of the first lens groups in a slidable manner and a second guide hole for holding a frame of the second lens groups in a slidable manner are parallely arranged on the outside of the respective frames of the first and the second lens groups and a first and a second pinions are provided between the first guide hole and the second guide hole.
