Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving member for linear motors capable of suppressing force applied from a magnet holder to a pair of rails even when the magnet holder undergoes a thermal expansion.SOLUTION: Multiple recesses 29 are formed on a magnet holder 15 at opposite portions facing a pair of rails 19. The recesses 29 are opened in a direction extending from the magnet holder 15 to the pair of rails 19, and in an direction opposing pole faces in which respective pole faces of each of multiple permanent magnets 17 are opposed to each other. Air gaps for absorbing thermal expansion which absorb force applied from the magnet holder 15 to the pair of rails 19 due to the thermal expansion of the magnet holder 15 are formed by the multiple recesses 29.
