PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitting/receiving system which inserts a control signal meeting a program supplier's intention into a transmission signal and automatically selects data to be outputted from a receiving unit as scrambled or after descrambled.SOLUTION: In a broadcast transmitting/receiving system, a control information is inserted into a transmission signal in a transmission side, and in a reception side, the system comprises: a descrambler descrambling a received scrambled signal; a demultiplexer separating a multiplexed signal outputted from the descrambler into video and audio encoded data to output to a source decoder and extracting the control information to output to a CPU; a CPU interpreting a control signal in the control information to determine whether to output a signal as scrambled or after descrambled and outputting a switch control signal; and a switch switching whether to output a signal in preceding stage to the descrambler or after descrambled in accordance with the switch control signal. The system automatically switches according to the control signal meeting a program supplier's intention.
