Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data logger that enables data collection to be automated with little battery power consumption.SOLUTION: An explosion-proof data logger having a battery as a power source and infrared ray communication means as means for collecting and transferring data is provided with control means 30 for controlling the infrared ray communication means 31. The control means 30, when the infrared ray communication means does not receive the data from any other terminal, switches over power supply to the infrared ray communication means and the control means to an intermittent supply pattern or, when the infrared ray communication means actuated intermittently receives the data from another terminal, switches over the power supply to a continuous supply pattern and requests a sender of the data for retransmission of the data through the infrared ray communication means.
