Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety confirmation device of a railway vehicle door, capable of recognizing an object caught in the door by an image processing and confirming safety when the vehicle door is closed.SOLUTION: A stereo camera SC includes: a stereo processing part 33 generating a distance image based on two image signals obtained by imaging with two CMOS sensors 31; and a recognition processing part 34 in which a part of a predetermined background image including the railway vehicle door is separated from the distance image, the distance image of the object caught in the door is extracted from the remaining distance image after the part of the predetermined background image is separated, and safety confirmation concerning the door is determined under predetermined parameter information obtained from the extracted distance image and a predetermined rule based on the predetermined parameter information.
