Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antifouling agent against aquatic periphyton free from damage of food safety caused from remaining antifouling agent and not requiring removal of the remaining antifouling agent, to solve problem, in the aspect of food safety, that the coating type antifouling agents against to contamination of aquatic periphyton tend to remain when used in culture of shellfish sold with husks and there are high possibilities of applying as a food while antifouling agent is left.SOLUTION: The antifouling agent against aquatic periphyton is based on dfinding that in marine culture of shellfish (Calloconchina, pearl oysters, Haliotidae) edible oils are effective as antifouling agents against aquatic periphyton contaminating the surfaces of husks, and the antifouling agents do not require removal of leaving an antifouling agent since the coating type antifouling agent using edible oils using high melting point emulsified palm oil as raw materials and the food safety is not damaged by the remaining antifouling agents.
