Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter capable of reducing switching loss to be generated in a voltage type inverter without increasing size.SOLUTION: Supply of DC power is allowed from both of a voltage type rectification circuit 5 and a DC power supply circuit 6 which convert AC power of an AC power supply 3 into DC power to a voltage type inverter 9 which drives an AC motor 10. The voltage type rectification circuit 5 has an upper arm part 5H and a lower arm part 5L having switching elements, a first switch circuit 4 is interposed between the voltage type rectification circuit 5 and an AC motor 3, the DC power supply circuit 6 is connected to the output side of the voltage type rectification circuit 5, and a second switch circuit 7 is interposed between the DC power supply circuit 6 and the voltage type inverter 9. A DC circuit between a third switch circuit 11 and a reactor L12 is further interposed between one DC input part on the input side of the voltage type inverter 9 and the AC input side of the voltage type rectification circuit 5, and chopper control is performed to at least one of the upper arm part 5H and the lower arm part 5L of the voltage type rectification circuit 5. |
