Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate ramp waveform voltage while reducing power consumption by plasma display device.SOLUTION: The plasma display device has a scan electrode driving circuit which comprises: a clamping part; a power recovery section having inductor L51; and a switching section for applying an intermediate voltage (Vs1+Vs2)/2 between a first voltage Vs1 and a second voltage Vs2 to a scanning electrode. In a first period T11, an interelectrode capacity Cp and the inductor L51 are caused to resonate to reduce the voltage of the scanning electrode, which has a voltage higher than an intermediate voltage (Vs1+Vs2)/2 between a first voltage Vs1 and a second voltage Vs2, to a predetermined voltage higher than the intermediate voltage (Vs1+Vs2)/2. In a second period T12, the switching section is closed to reduce the voltage on the scanning electrode from the predetermined voltage to an intermediate voltage (Vs1+Vs2)/2. In a third period T13, the switching section is opened to cause the interelectrode capacity Cp and the inductor L51 to resonate again to thereby reduce the voltage of the scanning electrode to a voltage lower than the intermediate voltage (Vs1+Vs2)/2. |
