Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate for a display, which suppresses deflection during conveyance and thermal warpage due to heat treatment.SOLUTION: The glass substrate for a display has a rectangular shape with short sides of ≥300 mm and has a substrate thickness of 0.3-6 mm, wherein in-plane deviation stress of the substrate, due to residual strain, measured in the substrate thickness direction is distributed in a compression direction along the periphery of the substrate, and a maximum value of deviation compressive stress in a direction parallel to each side in the vicinity of the side is ≥0.3 MPa.
