PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which is suitable for executing coloring of leather at high fastness, especially, at high humidity, sweat and friction fastness and also at high migration fastness even when a depth of a shade (color intensity) is middle and high.SOLUTION: The method is for the coloring of the leather with at least one dye F having at least one group represented by formula A [wherein, a broken-line represents a bond to a dye molecule, X is an electron-withdrawing group, k is 1, 2 or 3, n is 0 or 1, and B is CH=CHgroup or CH-CH-Q group, wherein Q is a group capable of being eliminated under an alkaline condition] capable of being activated under an alkaline condition, and the method comprises treatment of the leather with an aqueous float containing at least one dye F in the leather at pH of at least 7.5 or more. Further, novel dyes particularly suitable for reactive coloring of the leather are related.
