Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for storing coal, wherein coal conveying control and carrying-in date and time management are easy.SOLUTION: According to the device and the method for storing coal, a storage part 212 for storing a coal carrying-in date and time when coal is carried in, and a supply control unit 234 for supplying stored coal to an external device. When the storage part 212 stores two or more carrying-in date and time in one tank, supplying of coal to the outside is started on the basis of the oldest one of the carrying-in date and time in the coal storage tank, all the coals stored in the coal storage tank are supplied at once to the outside irrespective of the remaining coal carrying-in date and time.
