Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to search for precise communication path information and identify a precise section where communication failure has occurred through the use of a link trace function even if the management endpoint of a source and that of a destination are located in networks with distinct communication standards.SOLUTION: Switches 4 and 6 of a start end MEP are arranged in an IEEE802.1ad network 1. An edge switch 8, a core switch 10, and a core switch 12 of a terminal MEP are arranged in a IEEE802.1ah network 2. Upon the reception and encapsulation of an LTM frame 14 transmitted from the start end MEP (switch 4), the edge switch 8 references TYPE and OpCode in order to determine whether or not the LTM frame is an LTM (Link Trace Message). Similar to the edge switch 8, the core switches 10 and 12 also reference TYPE and OpCode of an LTM frame 18 to be encapsulated in order to determine whether or not it is an LTM. |
