Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell which prevents an internal pressure of a fuel electrode from excessively increasing by efficiently discharging generated gas generated in the fuel electrode to the outside of the fuel cell with a short diffusion distance and reduces partial pressure differences of the generated gas in a generated gas discharging passage, which starts from the fuel electrode and leads to the outside of the fuel cell, thereby achieving high output and excellent output stability.SOLUTION: A fuel cell stack using a fuel cell which comprises a membrane electrode composite including a fuel electrode, a electrolyte film, and an air electrode in this order, a strip shaped unit cell having long sides and short sides, a strip shaped fuel supply portion having long sides and short sides and including a fuel supply chamber. The fuel supply chamber is laminated on the unit cell so as to face the fuel electrode and is formed by space which opens on the fuel electrode side. At least one end surface, which is selected from a group consisting of two end surfaces on the long sides of the unit cell and two end surfaces on the long sides of the fuel supply portion, has a plurality of openings to discharge the gas generated in the fuel electrode. |
