PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conversation system for a patient with cognitive dementia that detects a smiling face of the patient with cognitive dementia and provides a suitable conversation corresponding thereto.SOLUTION: The conversation system for the patient with cognitive dementia of the present invention comprises a server and a terminal. The server includes a conversation database which has a plurality of conversation data groups each including conversation start data and a plurality of pieces of conversation continuation data, conversation starting means of transmitting the conversation start data to the terminal, recognizing means of recognizing reply contents from the patient with cognitive dementia, conversation continuing means of transmitting conversation continuation data corresponding to the reply contents to the terminal, smiling face detecting means of detecting a smiling face from face image data on the user and recording the number of smiling faces, and smiling face calculating means of calculating a frequency of appearance of the smiling face per conversation data group based upon the number of smiling face detection face image data, the smiling face calculating means relating and recording frequencies of appearance of smiling faces of two or more conversation data group by the conversation data groups.
