Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guiding system which can provide proper guidance in accordance with the type of surroundings even for a position which is not recognized as an intersection on network data.SOLUTION: A navigation unit searches routes and provides route guidance based on network data on which routes are recognized as lines, which are called link, and nodes. A point at which a car park, a building or the like, as a starting point, is connected to a prepared network through roads is recognized as an arrival point and the information of surroundings of the arrival point is prepared. When providing route guidance, an arrival point on the route is detected and the information of the surroundings of the arrival point is searched. In a case of an arrival point being a car park, users are notified that the position is an intersection even when it is not recognized as an intersection on the network data. In a case of an arrival point located in a residential area, a warning for calling users' attention to the possibility of pedestrians suddenly stepping out onto the road is provided. By doing so, proper guidance is provided in accordance with the type of surroundings, which can not be provided based only on the network data.
