PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine the necessity of performing maintenance work for a target device to be monitored.SOLUTION: A monitoring system includes: a Fault log information storage part 12 where the information of an event detected in the target device to be monitored is stored; a maintenance work history storage part 13 where the information of maintenance work performed for the target device to be monitored is stored; a relevancy analysis part 16 which calculates a tendency about the event detected in the target device in an analysis period before the maintenance work with respect to maintenance work performed for the target device to be monitored in accordance with a predetermined rule and generates relationship information making the calculated tendency and the maintenance work associated with each other; an operation log information aggregation part 21 which calculates the tendency about the event detected in the target device in the latest analysis period in accordance with the rule; and a visiting and monitoring part 22 which determines that it is necessary to subject the target device to maintenance work concerning the relationship information when the calculated tendency and the tendency concerning the generated relationship information have similarity meeting criteria.
