Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus which eliminates the problem of jitter contained in the pulse signal of a digital encoder.SOLUTION: A recording starting position is judged by conforming to a recording member position signal for which the position of a recording member moving in a specified direction by a recording member moving means is detected. A control means controls the recording by the recording apparatus by conforming to a recording signal having approximately the same waveform as the recording member position signal when the recording means starts recording from the recording starting position. Therefore, the recording is performed without depending on the recording member position signal for which the containment of jitter is anticipated, and the recording apparatus wherein the recording quality has been improved can be realized.
