Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out highly precise appearance inspection for a transparent article by using transmissive illumination while suppressing omission of inspection as much as possible.SOLUTION: The appearance inspection apparatus is configured in such a manner that a first rotating disk 1 and a second rotating disk 2 on which appearance inspection of a glass tube G is carried out have a rotary shaft X1 and a rotary shaft X2, respectively, at approximately rectangular to each other on the same plane and at the same time, the transportation path (L1) of the glass tube G adsorbed and held on the outer circumferential face of the first rotating disk 1 and the transportation path (L2) of the glass tube G adsorbed and held on the outer circumferential face of the second rotating disk 2 are overlapped at a giving and taking position of the glass tube G and the orienting directions of adsorption parts 14, 24 of the respective outer circumferential faces of the first rotating disk 1 and the second rotating disk 2 are approximately rectangular to each other at the overlapping part.
