Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder intake air amount calculation device, reducing the number of maps or tables used for calculating a predicted value (a predicted cylinder intake air amount) of a cylinder intake air amount, and constantly calculating an accurate predicted cylinder intake air amount without influence of changes with time in engine characteristics. SOLUTION: A stoichiometric cylinder intake air amount GAIRSTD is calculated based on intake pressure PBA and an intake temperature TA, volumetric efficiency ηv'(=GAIRCYLP(k)/GAIRSTD(k)) is calculated by using the stoichiometric cylinder intake air amount GAIRSTD, and the volumetric efficiency ηv' is corrected by using a lift amount correction coefficient KLIFT set according to an intake valve lift amount LIFT to calculate predicted volumetric efficiency ηva. A predicted cylinder intake air amount GAIRCYL is calculated by using a last cylinder intake air amount GAIRCYLP recalculated by using a detected lift amount LIFT, an estimated throttle valve passage air amount HGAIRTH, and the predicted volumetric efficiency ηva.
