Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion formed of a specific composition, having good aging stability and giving fine and uniform emulsion particles in any kind of diluting method with a lotion containing alcohols, and to provide an apparently translucent aqueous cosmetic containing the emulsion. SOLUTION: The emulsion includes four ingredients of polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil prepared by mixing all three kinds of polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil having average addition molar numbers of ethylene oxides of 5, 20 and 40, an oil agent, glycerol and water, in which the mixture having average addition molar numbers of ethylene oxide of 5 and 40 and one having an addition molar number of ethylene oxide of 20 are used at a specific weight ratio. This emulsion has favorable aging stability, and contains fine and uniform emulsion particles. The aging stability and emulsion particles do not change even when the emulsion is diluted with a lotion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
