Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated teller machine capable of suppressing also reduction in preparation operability on an operator side while suppressing reduction in convenience on a customer side. SOLUTION: When a human detection sensor 3 detects a human after performing operation for turning the automated teller machine to a transaction start disabled state by an operator side operation part 7, an effect, which a transaction cannot be started when operation is not performed in a customer side operation part 5 before lapse of predetermined time, is displayed on a front panel 4 and the state of lapse of the predetermined time is displayed on a rear panel 6, and when operation is performed by the customer side operation part 5 before lapse of the predetermined time, operation of a unit lock mechanism is controlled to prohibit drawing of a unit. When operation is not performed in the customer side operation part 5 before the lapse of the predetermined time, operation in the customer side operation part 5 is invalidated and the operation of the unit lock mechanism is controlled to draw out the unit.
