Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simpler high-sensitive detecting method of guanidino compound only by using an ultraviolet absorption detector which simultaneously satisfies requirements for economic efficiency, simplicity and promptness, not achieved by any conventional method. SOLUTION: The amine measuring method uses a column for cation exchange chromatography with a weakly acidic cation exchanger filled up, and uses phosphate aqueous solution, phosphate buffer, formic acid aqueous solution, formic acid buffer, or mixed solvent of any one of them with acetonitrile or methanol as an eluent, to measure amine especially-selected from a group consisting of creatine, guanidinoacetic acid (also known as: glycocyamine), creatinine and guanidino butyric acid in an biological sample through the ultraviolet absorption detector. Additionally the screening method is to sort any patient who suffers from the disease causative gene of which should be scrutinized based on values of guanidinoacetic acid/creatinine ratio, creatine/creatinine ratio and/or guanidino butyric acid/creatinine ratio in biological sample of the patient obtained from the measuring method.
