Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorative printing method capable of making the boundary of a printed area clear by causing ink droplets to accurately hit a targeted position disposed on a surface to be printed. SOLUTION: The decorative printing method is applied to an object 11 to be printed, i.e., a base plate 12 with at least a part of its surface 16 to be printed comprising a non-planar area 16B, wherein ink droplets of the same color as that of a print coat 17 are ejected from a nozzle 23 of an inkjet printer 20 onto the surface 16 to form the decorative print coat 17 thereon. Defining the distance between the nozzle 23 and the surface 16 as X (mm), and the amount of the ink droplets as Y (pl), the ink droplets are ejected from the nozzle 23 in an amount greater than the amount Y of the ink droplets represented by Y=0.9X1.5when the maximum value of the distance X is greater than 5 mm, in carrying out the decorative printing method.
