Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an interface of low power consumption in a storage device such as a memory card. SOLUTION: The storage device 1 includes: a communication execution part 11 capable of controlling an operation state between a communication-enabled state L0 in which data communication is possible and a pause state in which data communication is impossible; a buffer 13 for storing data transmitted/received by the communication execution unit 11; a memory 15 capable of storing data; a memory controller 14 for carrying out data input/output between the memory 15 and the buffer 13; and a communication controller 11 which operates the communication execution unit 11 if data communication is carried out, and pauses the communication execution unit 11 if data communication is not carried out. The communication controller 11 switches the operation state of the communication execution unit 11 between the communication-enabled state and the pause state in data communication depending on a data processing state of the buffer 13.
