PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide medicaments useful in the treatment of hyperproliferative diseases, such as cancer and inflammation, in mammals. SOLUTION: There are provided compounds of formula I and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and prodrugs thereof, wherein R1, R2, R7, R8and R9, W, X and Y are as defined in the specification, wherein X is N or CR10, Y is NR3, O, S, S(O), S(O)2, C(O) or CH2, R1, R2R8, R9and R10are independently, hydrogen, hydroxy, halogen, or others. Such compounds are MEK inhibitors and useful in the treatment of hyperproliferative diseases, such as cancer and inflammation, in mammals, and inflammatory conditions.
