PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the sense of incompatibility from being given to a drive feeling of a driver in the generation of power for an electric cooler. SOLUTION: An HV-ECU 20 is used for an hybrid vehicle that travels by the cooperation of an engine 10 and an HV rotating machine 12 and that includes the electric cooler 22 which operates by receiving the supply of power from a battery 14 supplying power to the HV rotating machine 12 where, when an SOC (State Of Charge) indicative of the charging state of the battery 14 is smaller than a prescribed or equal to or smaller than a prescribed value, power for supplementing the power consumption of the electric cooler 22 is generated based on the output of the engine 10. In the HV-ECU, when the power for supplementing the power consumption of the electric cooler 22 is not generated by the engine 10 while the electric cooler 22 is under operation, the output of the engine 10 for generating the power for supplementing the power consumption of the electric cooler 22 is subtracted from an output requested for the engine 10.
