Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand welding training system and method by which hand welding training corresponding to the skill level of a welding worker can be performed. SOLUTION: The hand welding training system includes: a trace training part 21 that performs control so that a welding operation parameter becomes a preset target value; an unaided training part 22 that measures the welding operation parameter during the welding operation with a welding torch 11 by a welding trainee in a state where the welding operation parameter is not controlled; an evaluation part 31 that evaluates the skill level of the welding trainee on the basis of the measurement result; and a hand welding supporting part 23 that performs control so that all or part of the welding operation parameter becomes a target value in accordance with the evaluation result.
