Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of providing a photoelectric conversion element improved in photoelectric conversion efficiency and having durability. SOLUTION: The method is used for manufacturing a photoelectric conversion element including a substrate, at least a pair of electrodes formed on the substrate, an organic active layer formed between the electrodes, and an electron extraction layer containing a compound represented by general formula (I). The method of manufacturing a photoelectric conversion element includes a step of performing heating after laminating the substrate, the pair of electrodes, the organic active layer and the electron extraction layer. In formula (I), R1-R2are each independently a condensed polycyclic aromatic group that may have a substituted group or an aromatic group; n is an integer ≥1; R3is an aromatic group; and X is an oxygen atom or sulfur atom.
