PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an objective lens and an optical pickup mounting the same, capable of making its mounting easier by enabling the precise detection of the position of the high NA objective lens. SOLUTION: Since the light source side diaphragm surface OB11s is provided together with the objective lens OBJ in one body, a diaphragm need not be provided separately. Further, since the light flux not converging on the information recording surface RL1 of a BD is output from the objective lens OBJ when a limited divergent light flux L' is incident to the light source side diaphragm surface OB11s, the surface OB21a of the optical disk need not be extended to be larger than the effective diameter to the outside in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis. Thus, in comparison with the case employing a separate diaphragm S, the inner diameter becomes larger by Δ at the optical disk edge OB21b, and the width can be increased in the direction orthogonal to the optical axis at the optical disk edge OB21b.
