Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel which can further be contracted in its non-usage state. SOLUTION: The lens barrel, which can be contracted in an optical axis direction, includes: a first lens; a second lens; a first lens-holding frame which holds the first lens and moves it in the optical axis direction; a driving means which drives the first lens-holding frame in the optical axis direction and makes the first lens come in contact with the second lens to drive them in a length-contracting direction; and an interference permission means (interference-absorbing means) which holds the second lens, and makes the second lens move with the first lens in the optical axis direction when the first lens is driven to come in contact with the second lens (interference).
