Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a calculation cycle of a reactor core thermal limit value monitoring device. SOLUTION: The reactor core thermal limit monitoring device 2, outputting a signal to a control unit 1, while monitoring the thermal state value of a core 3 segmented into a plurality of monitoring areas 10, is provided with a plurality of calculation processing units 12, and signal input processing units 11, synchronization processing units 13 and output processing units 14, corresponding to the calculation processing units 12. The calculation processing unit 12 determines whether it is necessary to output a signal to the control unit 1, by calculating the thermal state values of the monitoring areas 10, based on a signal representing the state of a reactor core 3 received by the signal input processing unit 12; and when the calculation processing unit determines that it is necessary to output a signal to the control unit 1, the synchronization processing unit 13 transmits a signal-output suspension signal to the other synchronization processing units 13; and when the calculation processing unit determines as being unnecessary, the synchronization processing unit 13 transmits a signal-output suspension cancellation signal to the other synchronization processing units. The signal output processing unit 14, when the synchronization processing unit 13 does not receive a signal stoppage signal, will output a signal representing the calculation results of the signal processing unit 12 to the control unit 1.
