Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gas measuring instrument capable of measuring a gas with high precision by preventing the penetration of the open air into a gas pipe from the joint of a gas sensor with the gas pipe. SOLUTION: The gas measuring instrument 1 has the gas pipe 10 having a passage 11A through which the gas passes and an opening 11B for allowing the passage 11A to communicate with the outside, the gas sensor 20 attached to the gas pipe 10 so as to close the opening 11B of the gas pipe 10, the seal means 30 provided to the joint of the gas sensor 20 with the gas pipe 10 to hermetically close the opening 11B and a purge means 40 for holding the outside of the joint of the gas sensor 20 with the gas pipe 10 to an inert gas atmosphere.
