Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing highly pure ionic vinyl monomer; to provide the ionic vinyl monomer which is good in compatibility with resins and organic solvents, is high in hydrolysis resistance, is suitably used for various kinds of electrochemical devices, has an excellent antistatic effect, and is free from halogens and metal salts; and to provide an antistatic agent comprising the monomer. SOLUTION: The method for producing the ionic vinyl monomer represented by formula (1) (wherein, R1is H or methyl; R2and R3are each independently 1 to 3C alkyl; R4is 1 to 3C alkyl, 1 to 3C alkenyl or benzyl; Y is O or -NH-; Z is 1 to 3C alkylene) comprises the quaternization reaction of a tertiary amine compound with a thiocyanate.
