Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp-lighting device capable of supplying DC bias voltage to a discharge lamp at suitable timing and preventing moving stripes generated during lighting of the discharge lamp. SOLUTION: High-frequency rectangular wave voltage V2 is input from a connection point x2 of a pair of switching elements Q1, Q2 provided in a switching circuit 14 in a DC voltage circuit 23 of the discharge lamp-lighting device 10. The DC voltage circuit 23 generates DC bias voltage V3 from the input high-frequency rectangular wave voltage V2. Then, the DC voltage circuit 23 applies the generated bias voltage V3 to a connection point x4 between a lamp 22 and a coupling capacitor C1 of a series resonance circuit 15.
