Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing and drying machine employing a heat pump drying system which effectively suppresses vibration of a housing. SOLUTION: A clothes dryer includes: a housing 1; a water tub 2 supported in the housing 1; a bottomed cylindrical drum 3 rotatably installed in the water tub 2, for accommodating clothes to be dried therein; a heat pump device 30 disposed in the housing 1, for drying the clothes in the drum 3. The heat pump device 30 includes a compressor 31 for compressing refrigerant, and is provided at an upper part in the housing 1 and supported by a support member 61 bridged between the sidewalls 1a and 1b of the housing 1.
