Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tensioner which has excellent following performance to high-frequency vibration from an engine and easily processes a lock piece without limitation in shape of the lock piece. SOLUTION: This tensioner includes: a propulsion member 3 moving forward and backward in the axial direction inside a cylindrical member 1; a propulsion spring 4 for energizing the movement of the propulsion member 3 in the advance direction; lock teeth 1c formed on the inner surface of the cylindrical member 1 or the outer surface of the propulsion member; and a lock piece 2 formed with lock teeth 21 to be engaged with the lock teeth 1c. The lock piece 2 includes: a load receiving part 22 for receiving a load when the propulsion member 3 moves backward; two or more lines of lock tooth forming parts 23 formed with lock teeth 21; and a connection part 24 integrally connecting the lock tooth forming parts 23.
